HAPPY NEW YEAR
(Scroll over bottom of video to get pause option for music)
It has been a long year. The economy has reached an all time low, but Americans have reached an all time high. A unified, family orientated country has resurfaced. We have been forced to re-evaluate our values and futures. I've always belived that it must get worse to understand and reach better.
Personally, I have began to evolve. I've become more aware of my importance as a mother and friend. I've began to share priceless experiences and conversations with my son. I've started on a journey to improve life for the two of us and others that may succeed me as a single parent. I've realized that there are people out there who really care and want to see change. I've been inspired by the Obama Campaign and his passion for people.
I've also been humbled. I realize that asking for or needing the help of others doesn't mean you are less than a great parent or person...it actually makes you human.
I'm looking forward to 2009. I've enrolled in school full-time and committed to leaving a legacy will be proud to learn from. This is the second year of my journey to start a foundation for working single parents like myself that struggle to do it alone with little or no assistance from tax dollars, family or friends and I can't wait to see it blossom.
Life is challenging, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
